This project is based around motifs from Baltic culture; I am fascinated how these symbols have been preserved through history and still hold their meaning and storytelling qualities. Storks in Baltic culture are a strong symbol of protection on the home, luck, fertility and spring. The surrounding repetitive elements hold the meaning of the star and cancer with all the design details circling around the central element of the sun.

I have chosen warm earthy tones for this design to keep it grounded in the nature themes also keeping in mind the wearability aspect of this accessory. The natural tones make the scarf more versatile for everyday wear.
